The duration of the Chartered Accountancy (CA) course in India is about 4.5 years. The course is divided into three stages:

The exam for the CA Foundation course is held twice a year in May and November, and students must pass all four papers to be eligible to appear for the CA Intermediate exam.
The CA Foundation course is open to students who have completed their 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized board. The course can be pursued through self-study or through coaching from a recognized institute.

The total CA foundation course fees is Rs 11,100(optional subscription for member’s journal also included) for Indian students and $1085 for foreign students. The CA foundation registration is valid only for 3 years, post which a student needs to pay Rs. 500 more if they have to continue further and revalidate their registration.

Late Fees of ₹ 600/- for Centers in India and Nepal ($10 for Overseas Centers) is applicable.
The validity of the CA course registration fees for the CA foundation course is 3 years. After finishing of the registration period, you can re-validate it again by paying Rs. 500. All those students who are not able to pass their Foundation exams can only pay the examination fees again and get a new admit card for the next exam without paying the registration fees again.
The CA Intermediate course is the second level of the Chartered Accountancy program in India. The course builds on the foundational knowledge gained in the CA Foundation course and covers topics such as accounting, taxation, auditing, and financial management.

The exam for the CA Intermediate course is held two times a year in May and November. Candidates must pass both groups of the exam to be eligible for the CA Final course.
To be eligible for the CA Intermediate course, candidates must have completed the CA Foundation course or have a relevant graduation/post-graduation degree. They must also complete a minimum of 8 months of study period for each group before appearing for the exam.

A late fee of Rs 600 is applicable in India and Nepal Centres.
The registration fee for CA Intermediate in India is Rs 13,000 for Indian students and $600 for Foreign students if opting for single group, and it is Rs 18,000 for Indian students and $1,000 for Foreign students if opting for both the groups.
There is another option of registering for CA Intermediate through direct route where students can register post completing their graduation. In this case, it is mandatory for students to opt for both the groups. The registration fees for direct entry students is Rs 18,000 for Indian students and $1,000 for Foreign students.
In addition to the registration fee, there are other charges such as the examination fee and the study material fee that a candidate needs to pay to appear for the CA Intermediate exam.

The registration for the CA Final course requires the candidate to have passed the CA Intermediate examination and completed the required practical training.
